What is your approach to pet training?

We employ force-free, positive reinforcement training to achieve our goals. This entails avoiding jerking, or resorting to correction through aversive tools, techniques, intimidation, or fear to coerce your dog into compliance. Instead, we focus on understanding behaviour drivers, encoraging dogs to utilize their problem-solving  abilities to think things through situations. 

What is positive reinforcement training?

Positive reinforcement training is a method of teaching where desired behaviours are encouraged by rewarding them. This involve providing desirable stimuli such as treats, praise, or toys, to reinforced increase the likelihood of the behavior being repeated. The goal is to create a wonderful association , making learning enjoyable for the everyone.

Is positive reinforcement training effective on large breed dogs?

Yes! Dogs of all breeds and sizes benefit from positive reinforcement training. Rather than focusing on what the behavior is, we start by looking at why they are doing what they are doing (barking, pulling, chewing, etc). By looking at the why, we can determine a safe and constructive training plan to meet both you and your dog's needs.

Is my pet too old to be trained?

It's always the right time to learn something new regardless of age. Dogs, no matter their age, can continually learn and develop. In fact, a significant aspect of dog training involves aiding our clients in understanding their dog's communication.
